On March 1st 2023 Mr Lars Tossman was appointed Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area
Aeronautics.
Business area Aeronautics is a supplier of innovative and world-class aircraft systems and is engaged in research, development, and production of military aircraft systems. It also conducts preparation studies for future manned and unmanned aircraft systems as well as further development of existing products and turnkey support solutions for fighter jets, aerial firefighting and helicopter support.
From February 1st 2020 until February 28 2023 Mr Lars Tossman was Senior Vice President and Head of Kockums, the shipbuilding Business area of Security and Defence Group Saab AB.
Lars has devoted the lion share of his working life to the Defence Industry with key responsibilities in various domains including: air (civilian and military applications); sensors; underwater technology and naval.
In the past years, Lars was Head of Saab Business unit Radar Solutions with employees in multiple locations around Sweden, as well as in Syracuse (USA). Lars was responsible for surface and airborne radar systems. He played a key role in the development and sale of the recently launched Global Eye airborne surveillance solution.
Lars joined Saab AB in 1986, first at Saab Aircraft Division at Linköping Sweden. Since then he held several management positions within Saab AB including Deputy Chief Marketing Officer for Saab AB (2010-2014), Head of Saab Underwater Systems (2006-2010) and Head of Saab business unit Airborne Surveillance Systems (2014-2019).
As Head of the business area Kockums, Lars Tossman was responsible for the development and production of submarines and surface ships. The main locations are in Sweden: Malmö för the engineering; Karlskrona as the major shipyard and Örnsköldvik for the combat boats (Docksta).
Mr Tossman is married to Eva Tossman and they have two sons. He enjoys skiing, golf and outdoor life.
